Stereotypical Topography

I’m tired of being a Mountie or an Inuit on these maps!

I can’t speak for people in the U.S.A., …  but they should have all  “The Village People” on their section at least, not just a couple.

I looked on an old map of North America* and there weren’t any of these things.

*(there were some Aztecs on Mexico though … but just a few)

I guess the old maps would have been too crowded with  little people wearing Native, Inuit, English, French, Dutch, Russian, Spanish, and ….   outfits.

… I’m glad they went back to their own countries and left North America to the North Americans.

… but the Mountie an Inuit still bother me.

note: I’m doing my best to fit in to Japanese stereotypes.

double note: there should be a band called “The Global Village People” … I bet they’d rock! … and be dressed in amazingly clashing outfits!

triple note: on planetross people just dress … casually.

Foreplay is just called threeplay for some reason.

quadruple note: if I’ve offended anybody, I haven’t meant to: I was going for everybody. hee hee!

amateur chef ;)

people set their goals in life.

i often do that annually. those are neatly kept inside my journal.

and after having an intense small talk wif someone lately, i secretly decided to add one more goal this year:

” JAGO MASAK “

 ha!

unbelieveable!

uda banyak kegiatan kek gini masih aja nambah-nambahin target… haha.. sok banget yak?!

soalnya, kalo dipikir-pikir, kapan lagi coba belajar masak [walau otodidak]? barang dua-tiga-empat tahun lagi uda kepikiran nikah. lha trus, suami mau dikasih makan apa? SALAH,,, yg bener: suami mau dimasakin apa? kalo urusan ngasih makan mah kewajiban si lelaki, kalo urusan masak biar si wanita yg beresin, ya nggak?

hmmm, apalagi kalo lagi ngobrol ama mbak meg, wah bisa keluar semua isi hati, obrolan-obrolan kecilku sama yang sekarang ini, i can tell her every detail in my relationship. and so is she, with her boy. all the small things they talk about, the marriage plan, and even the 2-years-promise. anything. just anything.

ini lho yg namanya mbak mega

FYI, dulu pas mau lulus SMA, aku ada target nikah usia 27-an. mau bangun karir dulu ceritanyo.. haha.. sempet dimarahin ama Nisa’, tapi akhirnya setelah jd penerima tamu di nikahan mbak Fitri [putrinya prof Teguh, kakaknya mbak Nuri&mas Dian], akhirnya sadar juga kalo usia ideal cewe nikah antara usia 23. hehehe.. thanks, life! for that precious lesson. i owe you.

gah! enough ramblingnya! )

oke, kembali ke masak.

Duluuuuu, saat awal-awal hidup sendiri, yaitu sekitar agustus – november 2008, aku hobi banget yang namanya ke Pasar Blimbing pagi-pagi, kadang naek angkot, kadang bawa si esti (dulu masih bernama esti, sekarang gaspard.the name-changing sounds like my car has been through a gender transformation. LOL). sok-sok an banget deh pake ke pasar segala. kalo di Sidoarjo aja jarang banget. wah, jadi wanita bener dah kalo di malang. =))

calon chef... tapi bo'ong :p

pertama, jangan lupa masak nasi dulu secukupnya.

untuk lauk, waktu itu masih bereksperimen membuat tumis kacang panjang + wortel & taoge. waktu memasaknya gak lama, cuma 25 menitan, ditambah bersihin alat masak& dapur sekalian nata meja makan selama 15 menit, total 40 menit aku bisa menyediakan tumis cang-wor-ge di ruang makan. tapi, gak lengkap rasanya kalo gak coba bikin sambel sekalian ama es nutri sari. VOILA! akhirnya jadi deh tumis cang-wor-ge [yg cukup enak], sambel [rasanya agak gak karuan. lebih tepatnya, gak enak. LOL] sama segelas nutrisari dingin untuk sarapan. Alhamdulillah ~

baru masak gini aja bangga )

worst thing: baru nyadar kalo sarapan sendirian.

nelangsanya sarapan sendirian, hari minggu pula

nasib jadi lonely lajang. ahahaha… tapi no problemo, uda biasa

sekarang?

idealisme itu mulai luntur dan akhirnya perlahan tergantikan oleh makanan kantin fk atau di depot dekat rumah.

i blame my routinity for that! well, guess i should blame myself too!

Amiiiin Ya Robb

SEMANGAT VANISIA!

G Gundam!!

I probably love cheese, either that or I’m a twelve year old kid stuck in a 17 year old body cause I just finished watching G gundam and it was a total blast! Gahahhaha! Bloody hell, I seriously think that was one of my favourite gundam series ever o.O It’s probably one of the cheesiest/corniest gundam show and I freaking loved every minute of it woOOOo!! =D

And to show how much awesome that show is, I’ll probably open up a new review section just for Gundam Anime >.>

LOL Don’t mind me, I’m just loving all this cheesyness

Oh and don’t forget to catch an update later on Destiny’s legs, I’m sure I’ll be able to finish them by today

Electronic Cigarette FTW?

For any smokers out there, you might find this of interest. I’ve been following these E-Cigarettes for quite some time, but I’ve never really gotten around to using them. Plus, I heard you find these in malls, and I don’t really frequent those anymore. These are supposedly the healthier alternative to smoking. I know it’s killing me, but damn, do I enjoy it. That being said, I can still enjoying the act of smoking, without turning my lungs into tar pits.

Either way, I’ve gone ahead and ordered my free trial via the Smoke-51 site. FYI – the set is free, and you pay shipping, which comes out to about $9.95. Not too bad considering I just dropped $10.50 in the city for Marlboro Lights.

As soon as these guys get shipped I’ll give it a go, and post my findings here.

What Would Jesus DO?

A few weeks ago, during a Sunday Morning Devotions with some of my church frens, we were discussing on servanthood and somehow, the topic went to beggars on the streets. All of us have seen them and some of us might have donated some money to them before. I still do but not to all of them that I see on the streets as some are very young (in their mid 30’s or 40’s) and there weren’t any physical disabilities on them so I think they could find a proper job if they wanted to. But the point here is not whether we give them money or not. What I am trying to say is what we could have done with them? There are many things that we could have done but we didn’t. Why? I think the answer is very obvious. We think they are filthy. Some are afraid of them; others just don’t have the courage. Sad to say I am in the latter category. Many times I would just love to talk to them and ask why they are on the streets. Wanted to help them get into welfare centre and so forth but I just couldn’t do it. In our devotions, bible studies or cell group we talked about helping others, being a humble servant yet we have ignored these group of people. It got me thinking about What would Jesus do and we should follow suit….

The Day That Got The Ball Rolling Part 1

Back When I was(wow that makes me sound old!) In college I was on the meat judging team.  I was signing up for my sophomore year classes I had never heard of meat judging until I was looking at the Animal Science class list.  I was interested in being on one of the collegiate judging teams, and meat judging caught my eye.

Well I didnt know what to expect, I was full of excitement and self-doubt at the same time.  The first class session I got there on about 20 mins early all ready to learn about what I got my self into.

I was very shy and pretty much thought talking to anyone that I didnt know was going to kill me!  I had participated in horse and livestock judging in my 4-H career and know that this required to give oral reasons.  So as I fight back my panic attacks, telling myself I would be fine they sure wont make us give reasons the first day and if they do hopefully not in front of everyone in the room!!!

As I wait there in the class room finally someone else comes in the classroom.  A girl, but I dont know her.  What do I do?  Dont make eye contact or I will have to talk to her!  Then what does she do!  Comes and sits right next to me and starts talking to me!  Oh I couldnt believe it!  Her name was Anne, from Maine, and ended up being my best friend!

Anyways the rest of the students show up and I am eager to learn.  Our coach had just graduated from Texas A&M with her Batchelor’s and was working on her Masters in Meat Science.

She finally told us about what we were going to learn.  How to judge meat – basically learn how to judge beef, pork, and lamb carcasses as well as wholesale cuts.  The best part of the intro was when she told us that the reasons were not oral but written!  The program consisted of three semesters.  The first semester we were the junior team, learning the tricks of the trade, then the following year we were the senior team actually competing in contests.

So over the next semester I made friends with all my judging cohorts, it took about four months till I really started talking with all of them without having a panick attack.  It was here that I learned that it was really ok to talk to people and that most are pretty interesting and not to scary to talk to…. looking back I laugh at how silly it was to be so frightened to talk to people.

Anyway getting back on tract.  I not only became friends with Anne, but also Missy.  She is so funny and cracks me up.  She and Anne call me Jenny From the Block.  These two are awesome people and friends.

This was our team in the fall of 2004, in Lubbock TX.  In 2005 we dropped three people who couldn’t fit the rigorous judging schedule into their own schedule.

Through Missy I meet many people.  Through her I met Blaine.  Stay tuned for more of the story!
